The Impact of Our Older Adult Program

Rosemary Quatrale, Older Adult Care Manager, recently received a heartfelt note from a caregiver following a presentation she gave at a recent caregiver conference.

“My husband has dementia and it's really hard for me to talk about. He is doing fairly well, but has some health issues also. I wanted to go to the seminar while he is still doing well so I could learn what I might need to know for the future.

Your presentation was so lovely….I appreciated your insights and compassion. You made me laugh and think about how to deal with difficult situations.

When the presentation(s) started, I couldn't help but cry. I get so emotional when I think about my husband's condition. Most of the time he is doing really well so I try not to think about it. Attending a seminar like this made it very real for me. Even though I feel so uncomfortable crying in front of others, I felt like it was such a safe place. I knew that everyone who was there, was there for me and everyone else. I felt such love and compassion.

I am so grateful that I was able to attend and am so glad to know about all the support that is available that we may need in the future. I have also passed it along to several of my friends.”

JFS is honored to be a source of comfort and valuable resources for those navigating challenging times. If you are interested in learning more about our Older Adult programming, please contact Rosemary Quatrale.
