JFS’ Exploring Creativity Program

Our Exploring Creativity program is diving right in with January’s class:

MIXING AND BLENDING WITH ACRYLICS

In this class, participants will learn basic acrylic techniques: Where to start, canvas preparation, types of brushes and how to use brushes, paint application and mixing, pressure used to apply paint, building depth in a composition, creating texture, softening or smoothing, light and shadow, finishing painting and sealing, allowing our creativity to flow, and critiquing work.

We are excited to welcome back Janeal Wilson as our instructor. An artist since the age of eight, Janeal has studied and worked in many genres of art.  She attended both Dixie College and Weber State College in the study of fine art. She has worked in the Utah public school system as a paraeducator, and many times in the art departments of various schools. Janeal served as a judge in Visual Arts and Photography for Davis County School District’s High School Reflections entries for 3 yrs. She teaches private art lessons, works as an art instructor for the Uintah County Recreation Center and is an endorsed Creative Aging instructor with the Utah Arts and Museums Creative Aging Arts program.
