Senior Adult Services

Health problems, loneliness or loss can make each day a struggle as one ages. Understanding and communicating can be difficult, but we can help both senior adults and their family members to find options to address for their needs.

L’dor V’dor | From Generation to Generation

Many of our elderly clients struggle to live independently, are faced with the loss of mobility and dignity, and do not always qualify for assistance. Through both staff and an extensive network of qualified volunteers, JFS provides:

Care Management Program

A program to help seniors through transitions to stay safely and independently in their home, provide companionship, transportation, and assistance with tasks of daily living.

Project EncourAge

A program for older adults that supports and promotes healthy aging in place.

Émigré Services

A program to support the Russian immigrant community in Utah, including:

  • Needs assessment, case management, and medical care coordination for senior adults
  • Information and referral
  • Interpretation services (English-Russian and Russian-English)
  • Volunteer services in collaboration with Salt Lake County Aging Services

Caregiver Connection

Are you caring for an aging relative?

The strain of caring for an aging loved one can be stressful. When attending to an older parent or relative, you may find yourself overwhelmed with the following:

  • Worrying about possible depression or grief resulting from the loss of a loved one.
  • Anxiety about a relative's health, finances, or living situation.
  • Struggling to keep up with a parent's shopping, laundry, or living situation.
  • Spending more and more time making calls for loved ones during your workday.

The compassionate and experienced counselors at Jewish Family Service are here to help. We can provide temporary relief from the taxing tasks of caring for an elderly or ailing loved one by providing respite care and caregiver support.
