Jewish Family Service offers a variety of ways to share your time and talents while making a real difference in our community. Whether you enjoy friendly conversations with older adults, or supporting families through our food pantry, we have opportunities for you!
Older Adult Programs
Friendly Visitor Program
- Support healthy aging by reducing loneliness and providing companionship.
- Weekly visits may include walks and chats.
- Matches are based on interests, personality, location, and supportive needs.
Dementia Friendly Activities
- Join our community programs and help support caregivers.
- Assistance includes support with activity participation.
- Opportunities are available monthly in Salt Lake City and quarterly in Park City.
The Gleeful Choir
- Assist our weekly chorus for people living with dementia and their caregivers.
- Support with musical accompaniment (instrumental or vocal) or refreshments.
Food Pantry Support
Our Alex & Sally Lebwohl Food Pantry serves more than 4,000 individuals and families each month. Volunteers are needed to:
- Assist with managing deliveries of food to JFS on Mondays & Thursdays.
- Bag and sort food for distribution.
- Distribute food during open pantry hours.
- Volunteer groups welcome.
Volunteer Requirements
- All volunteers must attend an orientation.
- Some programs may require a background check or additional program-specific training.
