Refugee Assistance Program

JFS provides emergency assistance to refugees through referrals from a variety of local resettlement organizations.

In 2017, Carol & Ted Levy were inspired to help the refugee community. In partnership with Jewish Family Service, their inspiration has created a fund to assist refugees in Utah. The Refugee Assistance Fund has helped over 172 families (766 individuals) in its first two years, with everything from tuition to help with rent and utilities when the family breadwinner was injured or ill. The Levys said, "the level of support has exceeded our expectations and we hope to expand support as we appeal to the greater Jewish community."
